We appreciate the opportunity to reply to Hall et al.'s discussion of our article (Scheffers et al. 2009) “Wave-emplaced coarse debris and megaclasts in Ireland and Scotland: boulder transport in a high-energy littoral environment.” Hall et al. (2010) bring up a number of important points regarding the interpretation of boulder deposits along western Ireland and western Scotland at high positions on cliff tops, often termed cliff-top deposits, or CTSDs.

Hall et al. (2010) chastise us for a dogmatic overemphasis of the role of multiple tsunami impacts in producing these enigmatic deposits. We plead not guilty...
