Abstract
Seismic attributes are derived from basic seismic measurements. These attributes are useful to help the qualitative and quantitative interpretation of seismic data. They quantify specific data characteristics that describe subsets of the total information. Today's interepreter interacts with numerous attributes through the aid of versatile color schemes and illumation methods to ascertain trends or patterns, structure, lithofacies, and petrophysics of a reservoir. Attributes are sensitive to variations in lithology, geometry, and structural patterns of deposition.
