The fourth week of July 2019 saw 5200 oil and gas professionals descend on the Colorado Convention Center in Denver for the 7th annual Unconventional Resources Technology Conference (URTeC). Despite the fact that the exhibit floor was expanded this year, the high number of attendees meant the floor was clogged for much of the three-day conference, much to the delight of the companies and organizations exhibiting. As a historical note, this level of attendance is close to that of 2014, the second year of URTeC's existence and the second year it took place in Denver. I can assure our readers that a lot of people, from the organizing team to participating societies to exhibitors to companies involved in unconventionals, are happy (and relieved) to see this level of excitement and participation in this conference, given the fact that URTeC is rapidly solidifying its position as the go-to conference for unconventionals and a key barometer to gauge the health of the unconventional industry.
