Abstract

In 2007, the Geophysical Society of Houston changed the format of its Spring Symposium, an event cosponsored by SEG, to add recognition of a noteworthy geophysicist to its two-day menu of technical presentations. The official verbiage said honorees would be selected based on “lifetime achievements and contributions to our industry” and would be people who have spent a significant portion of their careers in the Houston area or have influenced industry practice in Houston.
