Abstract

The Albian-Cenomanian Kharita and Bahariya formations are two of the most important oil-producing reservoirs in the Western Desert of Egypt. The area of study includes the Badr El Din-1 (BED-1) Field in the center of Abu Gharadig Basin about 300 km west of Cairo and 12.5 km north of Abu Gharadig Field (Figure 1). The BED1–1 oil discovery well, drilled in December 1981, was based on seismic and geological interpretations.
