Abstract

If there is one certainty in predicting pore pressures for drilling and production activities, it's that it is a practice rife with uncertainty. In an effort to address the uncertainties inherent in the many techniques and models that predict pore pressure, a first-of-its-kind joint workshop was held recently between the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).
