There is no shortage of earlier articles like this in Geophysics, TLE, and the journals of other relevant societies and, of course, they tend to appear at major milestones such as 25-year anniversaries and their multiples, century changes, etc. Some have made accurate predictions and some have been way off the mark—and I've enjoyed reading all of them.
