Five years ago, Dolson et al. predicted that the rapid growth in Nile Delta-Mediterranean gas discoveries that had occurred since 1994 would continue. This continued success in oil exploration, they added, would allow Egypt to eventually fully replace its resource base of 15.7 billion barrels of oil equivalent (boe) or approximately 91 trillion cubic feet risked yet-to-find (current on January 2000).
