If someone asked me if I had ever met a knowledgeable geophysicist, my answer would be: “many.” However, if someone asked me if I ever met a wise one, I would reply: “If I met one, I did not recognize.” It seems to be difficult to find a wise man (woman) in real life. They seem, however, to be more easily found in literature. I am glad that we can apparently now count on a wise geophysicist among us. I am happy that at least authors E.A. Robinson and R.D.
