Photonic Seismology: Lighting the Way Forward, the third topical conference convened by the Seismological Society of America was held in Vancouver, British Columbia, on 7–10 October 2024. The meeting was cochaired by Zhongwen Zhan of the California Institute of Technology and Ƶack Spica of the University of Michigan
The meeting’s theme centered on the need to take stock of how fiber‐optic sensing, especially Distributed Acoustic Sensing or DAS, has been steadily adoptedby a variety of seismology researchers for a decade.
