When Seismological Society of America (SSA) members vote for new members of the Society’s Board of Directors later this year, they will also vote on a proposed change to the positions of SSA president and SSA vice president.
The proposed change calls for the board to elect a new officer each year who will sequentially serve (1) 1 year as vice president and president‐elect, (2) 1 year as president, and (3) 1 year as past president. Previously, the president and vice president served 2‐year terms and there was no identified president‐elect.
