During the period between September 2010 and June 2011, the city of Christchurch was strongly shaken by a series of earthquakes that included the 4 September 2010 (Mw = 7.1), 26 December 2010 (Mw = 4.8), 22 February 2011 (Mw = 6.2), and 13 June 2011 (Mw = 5.3 and Mw = 6.0) earthquakes.
