A new president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer have each taken office at the Seismological Society of America, providing the organization with an entirely new slate of officers as it heads into its 102nd year serving the seismology community.12

William (Bill) Ellsworth is the new SSA president. He let go of his elected seat on the SSA Board of Directors after a term and one-half to take on the organization's top leadership role.

Ellsworth is a senior research geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey in Menlo Park.
