The Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America (BSSA) will publish a special issue on the 26 December 2004 magnitude 9.0 Sumatra-Andaman Islands earthquake and the resulting tsunami. These events demand our attention because of the devastating effects, which included the most casualties from a tsunami in recorded history.
