In April 2002, the Annual Meeting of the Seismolog-ical Society of America returned to beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia, to the same venue where the SSA meeting was held in 1989. The meeting, hosted by the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC Sidney office) and the University of Victoria (School of Earth and Ocean Sciences) and cochaired by John Cassidy and Garry Rogers of the GSC, was held at the Victoria Conference Centre from 17–19 April 2002.
