Three mailing lists are available at the Web site of the U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS's) National Earthquake Information Center (NEIC). These lists provide earthquake information rapidly on a subscription basis, BIGQUAKE sends a message whenever an earthquake is reviewed by the duty geophysicist that has a magnitude of 5.5 or greater anywhere in the world or a magnitude of 4.5 or greater within the 50 U.S. states, excluding the Aleutian Islands of Alaska.
