Abstract

The linear governing equations of generalized porothermoelasticity are solved for a two-dimensional solution, which results in one shear wave and four kinds of coupled longitudinal waves. The phase velocities and inverse quality factors of these plane waves depend on frequency, porosity, relaxation times, and other material parameters. The phase velocities and inverse quality factors of these plane waves are computed for a certain range of porosity by a using Fortran program of Ferrari’s method. The numerical results are compared with earlier established results in the absence of thermal parameters.
