This issue’s cover shows a beautiful turquoise lake in the Huaytapallana mountain range, part of the Peruvian Andes, in Huancayo, Peru. Huaytapallana is a Quechua word meaning “the place where flowers are gathered.” No, I don’t speak Quechua; I looked it up. A paper by Tavera et al. in this issue discusses the collection, not of flowers, but of seismic data from a temporary network to better understand the regional deformation and seismic hazard.
