A new trilobite species discovered in Llandeilian shales of the Crozon peninsula is discussed; this species, at the present state of knowledge, is the oldest known representative of the subgenus Phacopidella (Prephacopidella), first described in 1963 by J. Destombes from the Ashgillian of the Anti-Atlas (Morocco) and up to now unknown in Brittany.
