Abstract

Two series of glacial and fluvioglacial deposits can be distinguished east and northeast of Luxeuil-les-Bains (France). Deposits of the older glaciation are found on the plateaus and probably represent the Rissian. The deposits are characterized by fluvioglacial material and erratics of basic green crystalline rocks, light colored acidic rocks, and conglomerates. The younger glaciation, probably Wuermian, is represented in the valleys by moraines and terrace deposits.
