A review of the upper Eocene vertebrate fauna from the Mormont (Mauremont) and Saint Loup localities, Vaud, Switzerland, has resulted in the description of a new reptilian form, Paraxestops stehleni n. gen. n. sp. The close similarity of the new genus to the North American genus Xestops suggests close affinities between European and North American lacertiform faunas. Reexamination of indeterminate vertebrate remains from the Entreroches locality reveals the presence of the upper Ludian amphibian Megalotriton. Mammals and other reptiles previously collected from the area are listed and briefly described.
