Abstract

On the southeastern margin of the Argos plain, Peloponnesus, Greece, a neritic limestone series, the Aspis series, is thrust over the Pindus nappe; along the western border and elsewhere, the plain is bounded by the nappe. Erosion of a window has exposed autochthonous formations and the metamorphic basement. The structural relations between the different series are examined, and the different phases of tectonic activity that have affected the sedimentary formations are outlined.
