Abstract

A study of the stratigraphic and structural relationships of the upper Bathonian (Jurassic) of Aisne, France, clarifies fundamental correlations and establishes more precisely the age of various structural features. Synclinal undulations are considered to have occurred before deposition of the upper Bathonian strata, not during a later pre-Cretaceous period, as previously thought.
