Abstract
Examination of numerous specimens of Taeniopteris and critical study of the original descriptions and figures lead to precise definition of the specific characteristics of T. jejunata, T. multinervis, and T. plauensis and to the erection of a new species, T. tenuis, for material from the Stephanian (Carboniferous) of Decazeville, France.
