A detailed description of the sedimentary series of Espiritu Santo in the New Hebrides. Three main subdivisions are present, the lowest of which is later than the bulk of the volcanic complex of the island (andesites and labradorite basalts). The sediments are probably all Burdigalian (Miocene) but only the upper unit contains precise paleontologic evidence.
