A study of a littoral formation, a marine sand cemented by limonite, which occurs in the Ri beach region, near Douarnenez, Finistere, France. The ferritization and consolidation seem to have been caused by the action of local springs and influenced by the position of the formation along the shore. The age is probably Normanian (early Quaternary).
