Abstract

Along the Atlantic coast of France there are numerous elevated platforms which testify to former sea levels, but as yet no true raised beaches have been found, at least not any dating from the pre-Flandrian. Various sediments found between Tranche (Vendee) and Madame island (Charente-Maritime) which may be related in one way or another to former shore lines are discussed.
