Abstract

Sediments filling and covering an ancient (first century B. C.) wreck off the island of Grand Congloue in the Riou archipelago, southern France, are a means for measuring sedimentation in this area, including the activity of coral-building organisms. The study includes granulometric analyses of bottom sediments, from various bionomic zones, in the vicinity of the archi-pelago.
