Describes several unpublished sections of the Nummulitic (Tertiary) in the Morcles nappe in the Arve valley and Plate region, reinterprets a number of sections in the Giffre valley (France), and compares them with sections in the Dents du Midi (Switzerland). The post-Cretaceous conglomerates and lacustrine beds ascribed to the Lutetian apparently belong to the Lutetian and Priabonian, and seem to correlate with two lacustrine zones in the Dents du Midi described by De Loys.
