Gives the location, stratigraphy, and petrography of the Hettangian (Liassic) beds on the Vendee coast, France, in which have been found the two algae here described. Both of these--Tersella incompleta, a new species, and Diplopora? sp.--belong to the dasycladaceans and lived in very shallow, warm coastal seas.
