Solenopores associated with corals were recently discovered in lower Bajocian (Jurassic) strata of the Langres plateau, France. The faunal association is generally typical of younger Jurassic formations and has not previously been found in basal Dogger beds. The algae are assigned to a new variety, lingonensis, of Solenopora jurassica.
