Abstract

Reports the discovery of fossils (Myophoria and Avicula) in the dolomite layer at the top of the middle Keuper (Triassic) in the vicinity of Mirecourt, Vosges, France. No fossil which could be definitely determined has previously been reported from the dolomite, which represents an index zone for the upper boundary of the middle Keuper over a wide area extending from the Moselle river to the Jura mountains.
