A study of the mineral composition of various rock masses in the Pyrenees which supplied the detrital material forming alluvial, as well as Cretaceous and Eocene, deposits in the Aquitaine basin, France. For the most part the material supplied by the Pyrenees contains contact metamorphic minerals (garnet, andalusite, hornblende), whereas that supplied by the Central Massif contains minerals characteristic of a general regional metamorphism.
