Study of the stratigraphic and tectonic relations of strata underlying modern alluvial deposits and overlying the Cretaceous of the Acheres meander region in the Seine river valley, France, revealed by a series of borings, shows that the Vigny structural axis terminates at the Seine and that the Acheres meander is located in a synclinal trough.
