Discusses the Nummulitic (Tertiary) stratigraphy of the Araches plateau and the Cretaceous-Eocene stratigraphy and structure of the Arbaron mountain which rises above the plateau, in the Plate massif region, France. Both the plateau and the mountain belong to the Morcles nappe, but are nevertheless independent tectonic units. The Arbaron massif is a recumbent fold.
