Abstract

Describes the stratigraphic subdivisions and fauna of the Aptian to Cenomanian (Cretaceous) formations of the Ouenza mountain region, Algeria. Correlation of the vertical distribution of foraminifers with successive ammonite zones permitted identification of certain of the foraminifers as index microfossils. Descriptions of the Cenomanian ammonite Flickia rudelli n.sp. and two new species of foraminifers, Epistomina colomi and E. scala, are included.
