Abstract

Identifies four successive stages of dislocation in the Triassic strata overlying Carboniferous deposits of the Auzonnet valley in the Gard coal basin, France. The faults are all Tertiary in age. Intense folding of the Carboniferous deposits took place during pre-Triassic crustal movements.
