Two hypotheses are presented for the interpretation of the structure of the Mauberme massif in the Pyrenees of Ariege, France. One assumes extensive overthrusting; the other is based on the assumption that the lower Paleozoic represents a normal stratigraphic series which was subjected to normal folding.
