Specialized food habits of certain echinoderms. Cites numerous examples of echinoderms--crinoids (Camerata and Adunata) and cystoids (Caryocrinus, Dendrocystis, Cothurnocystis, Cyclocystoides)--in which the mouth is not directly exposed on the surface of the animal. In some, the plates covering the mouth and food grooves constitute part of the tegmen.
