Orogenesis of the upper Algonkian (pre-Cambrian) of Arabia and northern Africa. The zone of folded unmetamorphosed or slightly metamorphosed upper Algonkian beds extends from northern Arabia across north Africa to Mauritania, French West Africa, and constitutes an area of simple foreland folding with associated volcanic activity. The period of folding is correlative with the Killarnean Revolution of North America.
