Following publication of my article “CRAB TRACES ON MUDDY TIDAL FLATS OF THE MIRA RIVER ESTUARY, PORTUGAL”, two relevant points were brought to my attention (F. Muñiz Guinea personal communication 2025). The first point deals with abundant double grooves recorded on the Mira River middle estuary tidal flats. I interpreted these double grooves as the grazing and feeding scratch marks left by the crab Carcinus maenas.
