When I was first invited to become co-editor of PALAIOS, I was thrilled! PALAIOS has long been one of my favorite journals, one that I genuinely enjoy reading. The reason is right on the masthead: “Emphasizing the impact of life on Earth's history”—exactly what interests me the most as a scientist. PALAIOS is where I can learn about everything from dinosaur trackways to microbial preservation to experimental taphonomy to paleocommunity dynamics to live-dead assemblage comparison and so much more in every issue.
