Abstract
Comparison of a set of grain size distributions by analysis of derived statistical parameters can sometimes mask subtle variations within the set. A qualitative comparison of the complete distributions can be made by a contour mapping in the space-frequency-size domain along profiles of interest. Such an approach enables one to observe variations more easily than by viewing numerous size-frequency diagrams.
