Abstract
Microprobe determination of carbonates stained with reagents utilized in the determination of iron show marked depletion in iron content as compared to unstained areas. Removal of iron to the solution by potassium ferricynide in an acid medium must be taken into consideration when microprobe analyses are conducted on samples previously stained to delineate areas for study.
