Abstract
The western side of Santa Catalina Island contains the remnants of marine terraces as indicated by the lack of topographic relief of the remnants and a surface veneer of highly rounded pebbles and cobbles. The terraces are not extensive due to the frequency of landslides and subsequent coastal retreat under the influence of marine undercutting.
