The azimuths of cross-strata and current markings in individual sedimentation units within the Upper Precambrian flysch of Dobrogea, Romania have been mapped, separately. Although discrepancies of up to 86 degrees have been found, the azimuths of these two kinds of structures display the same trends. Therefore, erosional structures (current marks) are thought to be adequate indicators of depositional currents.
