Abstract

Sample analysis of surface material on dolerite taluses shows that there is no consistent variation in block size and sorting with position on the slope. Fabric patterns are usually isotropic although a sub-horizontal girdle is indicated by some methods of analysis. These results are in accord with the hypothesis that talus is an accumulation of material little affected by other geomorphic processes.
