Sand grains are described from 10 samples collected in the Mississippi embayment section of W. Tennessee representing about 150 ft. of the McNairy sand (Cretaceous) and sands from the Claiborne and Wilcox(?) groups (Eocene). Mineralogical criteria for recognizing 3 complete cycles of erosion and deposition are given.
