Abstract

Minor sedimentary structures observed in Carboniferous siltstones and sandstones from borings in Derbyshire, England, include contorted structures, structures exhibiting affinities with washouts, and structures attributed to the action of burrowing organisms. Together with the current bedding which characterizes the coarser sandstones, the structures are regarded as evidence of sedimentation under relatively shallowwater conditions.
