Abstract
A conglomerate composed of irregularly shaped pebbles of fine-grained limestone in a glauconitic matrix in the upper Cretaceous of the Roc-de-Chere region, Haute-Savoie, France, is considered a special type of intraformational conglomerate produced as a result of reworking of glauconitic sands and rapidly consolidated, still plastic calcareous muds by wave action during the initial stages of transgression.
